🦁 Reinhardt Wilhelm — The Crusader

Over sixty years old and still the first through the breach. Reinhardt Wilhelm was a decorated German soldier turned member of the legendary Crusaders — knights in powered armour who stood as humanity's shield during the Omnic Crisis. When Overwatch called, he answered without hesitation, serving under his master Balderich von Adler, whose life he could not save at Eichenwalde — a grief that forged his oath: never again.

⚔️ The Omnic Crisis — Rise of the Crusaders

Clad in Crusader power armour, Reinhardt held the line at Stuttgart and across Germany. His rocket hammer sang, his barrier shield never wavered. The omnic legions learned to fear the lion crest.

🛡️ Eichenwalde — The Last Stand of Balderich

Master Balderich von Adler fell holding the castle bridge. Young Reinhardt, wounded and afraid, was ordered to retreat and live — to carry the honour forward. He keeps Balderich's oath-token to this day. "Live with honour. Die with glory."

⭐ Overwatch — The Golden Age

Reinhardt became Overwatch's shield and soul — the laughing knight at the front of every strike team, mentor to heroes like Brigitte Lindholm (his goddaughter and squire). Justice, honour, glory — no mission too dire.

🌍 The Recall — Glory Awaits

Decades later, retired but unbroken, Reinhardt answered Winston's recall. Older, slower, louder — and more honourable than ever. "I will be your shield!" The lion roars again.

Melee swings dealing 85 damage in a wide arc. Knockback on every hit. The hammer is rocket-propelled — because of course it is. Justice rains from above… sideways.
